Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 October 2026

By using TickOff you agree to these terms.

1. Use of the service

You may use TickOff for lawful purposes only. Don't use it to harass others, distribute malware, infringe copyright, or violate any law. We may suspend or remove accounts that do.

2. Your account

You're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in credentials safe. Notify us at hello@tickoff.app if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Your content

You own the to-dos and content you create. You grant us permission to store, display, and sync that content as needed to operate the service. Other members of any group you join can see your group content. Your Licences and Warranties lists are not group content: only you and the people you choose to share each one with can see it, and they can also add to it and change it.

4. Beta service

TickOff is currently in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed. Do not rely on it as your only system of record.

5. Subscriptions and billing

TickOff has a Free tier (1 group, 3 members, 30 active to-dos, 1 machine per group in Equipment, 1 thing on a Licences list, 1 warranty on a Warranties list, no AI/photos/calendar/CSV/stats/reports) and a paid Pro tier:

  • Monthly: AU$4.99 per user, billed monthly until cancelled.
  • Yearly: AU$39.99 per user, billed yearly until cancelled.

Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period using the payment method on file. You will not be sent a reminder before each renewal — it's your responsibility to cancel before renewal if you don't want to be charged.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of any applicable taxes.

Free trial. Each person can start one free 14-day trial of Pro features. No payment details are needed and nothing is charged: when the trial ends your account goes back to the Free tier unless you subscribe, and your data is kept. If you're over a Free-tier limit then, the same rules apply as after a cancellation (section 6). If you subscribe during a trial, the subscription and its first payment start that day, not when the trial ends. To prevent repeat trials we keep a record of the user ID and email address that started a trial, and we keep it even if the account is later deleted. We may end a trial early or refuse one if we reasonably believe it is being abused.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the "Manage Pro subscription" link in the app's profile menu. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep Pro features until that date, then revert to the Free tier. Your data is never deleted on cancellation. If you're over a Free-tier limit, you can still change, complete and delete what you have, but you can't add more until you're back under the limit or upgrade again. In Equipment, machines past the Free tier's limit are locked (they can be viewed and deleted, but not used) until someone in the group has Pro. On a Licences list, everything after the first thing is locked the same way (it is still reminded about) until the list's person, or someone they share it with, has Pro. A Warranties list works the same way after its first warranty.

7. Refunds

If you're unhappy with TickOff Pro within 7 days of your first paid subscription, email us at hello@tickoff.app and we will refund that payment in full.

Outside the 7-day window, we generally do not refund unused portions of a billing period (you simply keep Pro until the period ends after cancelling). Refunds for technical issues, duplicate charges, or other genuine problems are at our discretion and will be considered case-by-case.

8. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry your card for up to three weeks. You retain Pro access during this grace period so you don't get locked out unexpectedly. If all retries fail, your account reverts to the Free tier and you can re-subscribe at any time by updating your payment method.

9. Price changes

We may change subscription prices in future. Any price increase will only apply to your subscription from the next billing period after we notify you (by email or in-app notice) and you'll have at least 14 days to cancel before the new price takes effect.

10. Promotional codes

Promotional discount codes (including codes for free Pro access) are issued at our discretion, may be revoked at any time, are not redeemable for cash, and cannot be combined unless explicitly stated.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the profile menu. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On account deletion we remove your profile, your group memberships and your push subscriptions (apart from the minimal free-trial record described in section 5), and delete any group you're the only member of, with its to-dos. To-dos and equipment records you added to groups shared with others stay there for them, without your name on them, and a group you own passes to whoever has been in it longest. If you have a paid subscription, deleting your account cancels it straight away; the rest of the billing period isn't refunded (section 7 still applies).

12. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any consequences of missed reminders or incorrect notifications. Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes (especially to billing or your rights), we will notify active users by email or in-app notice with at least 14 days' notice before they take effect. Continued use after that period means you accept the new terms.
